Arthrosamid

Platelet Rich Plasma Knee Clinic

BACKGROUND

Arthrosamid is a non-biodegradable, 2.5% polyacrylamide hydrogel injection used to improve cushioning and support in knees and hips affected by osteoarthritis. Arthrosamid differs from other injectable options by its proven long-lasting efficacy and pain relief, often over 5 years with just one injection. This iPAAG hydrogel permanently integrates into the synovium, breaking up fibrotic tissue and helping restore it to its original state. Unlike traditional medical implants, it does not require surgery and works with the body’s existing structures.

OUR APPROACH TO ARTHROSAMID INJECTIONS

At our clinic, Arthrosamid is injected under image guidance.

How do I prepare for my Arthrosamid injection appointment?

  • In the days leading up to your injection or the morning of your appointment, you will see our Medical Doctor for an antibiotic prescription. This can be filled at the pharmacy on the main floor of our building and should be taken 1-3 hours preceding your injection.
  • The practitioner will go over your consent form, explain the procedure and answer any questions you may have.
  • The area to be injected will be cleaned and using ultrasound guidance, the practitioner will inject the Arthrosamid into the affected area using a sterile needle.

When will I see results?

Results from early healing are not typically appreciated until at least three months after the procedure.
